Here are two more sketches based on the Gordon Thomas photo collection. Above can be seen the newly launched, "Emma and Helen". She is at the Mansfield wharf in Harbor Cove waiting for her canvas and fishing gear. To the right is a three master unloading coal at the Charles Boynton Coal Wharf. There is a gentleman in the dory in the foreground getting ready to go on a fishing expedition to the outer harbor.
On the right is the F.L. Davis Wharf in Harbor Cove. It is now the site of the Gloucester House Restaurant which we often patronize. The schooner facing bow on is the Boston based "Rose Standish". The Davis owned schooner, "Agnes", is lying at the head of the wharf. This is the spot where the current day schooner, Thomas Lannon, is now tied up next to the restaurant. Every year we take two or three trips on the Lannon, a really beautiful replica of a schooner from Gloucester's hey day.
